Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners were announced during ceremonies at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel. More than 180 nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S. and several other countries attended.
Stevie Awards were presented in 34 categories including Best Entrepreneur, Best Executive, Lifetime Achievement, and Women Helping Women. More than 600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run –worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as “the business world’s own Oscars.” (New York Post, April 27, 2005).
